3D Modeling changed my thinking. Sometimes I forget just how much. Learned 3d modeling started to help me learn to think in 3d. So my imagination could actually see objects from different perspectives. This greatly helped my abilities in drawing and painting. Along with modeling in 3d there is 3d lighting to play with while rendering. Knowing where to place lights to get specific effects and shadows helped me to understand lighting more also. i have done quite a bit with 3D and its a great tool to have when its needed.

Along with learning 3d modeling and rendering I also provide it as a service. My 3d modeling services include renderings usually. A lot of the projects I have worked on are featured below. I always strive for the best 3d rendering I can. It is rare that I sell 3D models themselves, normally I create images for clients. Some of my projects were free 3d rendering projects such as indi games and geometry studies.

I will try to work on 3d max tutorials and zbrush tutorials when I get some free time. Those would be put up in the video section of the site when I do.

As I started my digital painting career I started with conceptual art. I worked for small indi games at the time and would develop the looks of characters, environments, and even the feel of the gameplay. Concept art is really idea art, or you could call it idea painting and idea drawing. I do concept art all the time but this section is dedicated to that art specifically.

As a freelance concept artist I see concept art focused more in the arena of fantasy art. Its true that you can bring concept art into other areas such as architectural painting but for the most part the art associated with the phrase "concept art" is largely fantasy based. Its reserved for movies, games, and other types of projects that require a lot of ideas. 

In my mind concept art is always 2d concept art but thats really an identification I have with it. Really its any medium that explores ideas. That applies to 3d modeling and also to 3d sculpting. For me though its always having to do with creative painting, drawing, and design.

To me an illustration is a painting with a purpose. Usually that purpose is to deliver some story point. This section contains illustrations that I have done for contests, production, and for friends. A good illustrator is really a good story artist. The story doesnt always have to have plot though, it could also just be an intention. Technical illustration is more precise but it does tell a story. 

I am a freelance illustrator on top of freelancing other services. I am mainly a digital illustrator meaning I do all my work in the computer and print it later. Ive always wanted to do book illustrations for book covers. One day I want to try make some childrens book illustrations. I think that could be a lot of fun. I also want to try a hand at comic book cover art. I think my strongest quality as a painter is doing full paintings. With that I do want to do more portrait illustrations also. A portrait illustrator can really be valuable to normal folks who want to enhance their home with a loving portrait.

I am lucky in that I get to do a lot of illustration work for clients. I really love it and it can be very very fun creating images that, only a few years ago, I would never have imagined I could do.

My new logo design portfolio focuses on finished professional logo designs. A strong business needs logo designs that really speak to what they do and who they are. Logos play a crucial role in any business or products life. It is the face that people identify and remember.

When I started really getting in to what great logo design is I woke up to the fact that logos are everywhere. A good custom logo designer is needed for business's who want to stand out of the crowd and catch the attention of their target audience. Logos dont necessarily need to yell for attention to do this but they need to be effective in catching the attention of the relivent individual.

I like to get creative with my designs and step out of the boundaries of conventional ideas. I like to input meanings and shapes that are iconic and sometimes subtle.
